Life is a marathon: almost at my first water stop

Yes, yes I am a million weeks pregnant and have resorted to sleeping up right because rolling over is more work than marathon training. I’ve been practicing my hypnoborthing relaxation and feel confident in birthing and hope that carries over into recovery! I’m finally at 39-40 weeks and am so ready to meet this baby, name him or her, and welcome my child to the world!

Here’s a recap of week 6 of Boston Marathon Training:
Day 1- why am I still running? I can’t breathe. I’ll walk. Wait, no, I can run. Today was a good day! I managed to run without peeing myself and the heat didn’t feel so bad.

Day 2: Walk/Run for an hour. Why is Florida so
Hot? Stopped to get gelato half way into this ‘run.’ Best idea EVER!

Day 3: Goal was 7 miles. Made it almost 4 outside with a run/walk ratio of 4:1 and got too hot so I looked back home. Pretty much laid outside like a beeched whale until I had a genius idea of going to Y for some air conditioning. Finished the day with 3 more treadmill miles and ran all of them at a 11:30 pace!!

Day 4: Three miles outside. Super happy I was able to run 4 without stopping!! Finished the day off with some pelvic floor and hip strength.

Day 5: Walked 4 miles and felt really pregnant. Walked a loop of 1/2 mi around my neighborhood because I really wanted this baby to come & didn’t want to be too far from home!

Day 6: I have my midwife appointment later today so I managed to get in 4 miles. I chose to go without my watch today in attempt to focus on breathing and form. My body still feels great, I’m still pregnant, and I’m really hoping this baby comes soon because there’s only 11 weeks to Boston! Baby is killing my birth recovery plan. Runner Priorities, right?

Day 7: Rest Day...hopefully, the midwife clears me to continue the miles for another couple days. 28 miles logged for the week. Woohoo!
